Growing up, my family taught me the value of hard work and community from a young age. My humble upbringing shaped my belief that everyone deserves a fair shot, a principle that fueled me as I worked my way through college at Framingham State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree. I was fortunate to begin my career in public service with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, contributing to impactful projects like the Public Housing Waitlist and the redesign of the mass.gov website.
For the last decade, I’ve had the privilege of leading diverse teams of talented developers, designers, and strategists. Together, we built websites and digital platforms that serve and connect people. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how to lead with purpose, bringing a clear vision and a collaborative spirit to every project I take on.
I’ll lead with empathy and respect for all Berkley residents.
Rob’s priorities for Berkley’s future
Let's restore civility to our public forum and find common ground on the issues that matter.
Ensuring every voice is heard through transparent governance and regular town halls.
Commitment to a community where no one is above the law and all rules are enforced with dignity and impartiality.
Rob Powell wants to hear from you. Share your concerns, ideas, and questions about Berkley’s future.
The Berkley, MA Board of Selectmen acts as the town’s chief executive and policymaking body. They are responsible for enforcing bylaws, managing town property, and appointing members to most of the town’s boards and committees. The board also serves as the licensing authority for various local businesses.
Also, more importantly, the Board of Selectmen interface with the Town to prioritize the Town’s needs. For example, when the Train Horns and crossings became too much of a nuisance for many, the BOS moved into action to come up with innovative solutions.
No. This is a special election and the winner will be Board of Selectmen from November to May.
Rob is running because he believes in a Berkley that works for everyone, not just a select few. He wants to continue the progress of the current Board of Selectmen while making local government more accessible and responsive to all residents. Having personally experienced dishonesty and disrespect from public officials, he is committed to helping those who feel unheard. His goal is to bring a new level of integrity and dignity to the public forum, ensuring that every constituent has a voice and that their concerns are met with respect and action.
For the last decade, Rob has been a leader in a fast-paced environment where success depends on effective communication and strategic vision. His role has been to unify teams of diverse professionals—developers, designers, and strategists—around a common goal. He worked collaboratively to build websites and digital tools that serve millions of people. This experience taught him how to lead with purpose, manage complex projects, and build consensus among stakeholders. This leadership, combined with his public service background, is exactly the kind of skill set the Board of Selectmen needs to navigate the challenges and opportunities facing the town.
